Baloch National Movement (BNM) stated that over the past seventy seven years, the true rulers of Pakistan have never deviated from their policy of oppression, writes Dr SaKariya Kareem
On the occasion of Pakistan’s establishment day, the spokesperson for the Baloch National Movement (BNM) declared August 14th a dark day for the oppressed nations within Pakistan. He remarked that seventy-seven years ago, the state, forged by colonial powers for their own benefit, has evolved into a major threat to global peace, security, and humanity.
He said that under the administration of Pakistan, there is no joy for the Baloch, Pashtuns, Sindhis, Kashmiris, and the people of Gilgit-Baltistan, only an atmosphere of grief and mourning. Happiness is reserved for Punjab, which has deprived the other nations of their freedoms. The other regions remain indifferent to this so-called “independence celebration” because, in Pakistan, they live not in freedom but in subjugation.
He stated that the Pakistan army in Balochistan is failing to organize the so-called independence celebrations on August 14th each year, despite using tactics of greed and fear. This failure highlights the Baloch people’s deep-seated contempt and resentment towards Pakistan.
“Over the past seventy seven years, the true rulers of Pakistan have never deviated from their policy of oppression. To exploit Baloch resources, they have stripped the Baloch of their national authority and placed them under direct control of the Pakistani army.The civilian administration merely acts as a facilitator for the army, and the Balochistan Assembly, in reality a puppet institution, follows the army’s directives rather than representing the people. The Baloch face daily instances of forced disappearances and casualties. The Pakistan army maintains its dominance through state power and coercion, while the Baloch nation continues to resist with determination and national strength.”
The BNM spokesperson stated, “The Baloch nation must remain steadfast and resilient. We should keep the success of our struggle for national freedom in mind at all times. The day will surely come when the symbol of oppression, August 14, will be erased from the pages of history like a mistake, and oppressed nations will live with dignity in their free homelands.”
