Brent residents are encouraged to attend a public meeting on Monday, January 27, aimed at tackling drug and knife crime in the borough.

The event, hosted at the Grand Hall in Brent Civic Centre from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM, will provide a platform for community members to engage with local authorities and voice their concerns.

Chief Superintendent Sara Leach will lead the discussion, outlining measures the Brent police are taking to combat crime and strengthen trust within the community. Her presentation will highlight collaborative efforts between the police, Brent Council, and local partners to enhance safety across the borough.

Representatives from Brent’s commissioned support services will also be on hand to discuss their work with individuals and families impacted by drug use. Their insights will shed light on resources available to those seeking help or worried about loved ones.

In addition, attendees will have the chance to interact directly with local police officers, council representatives, addiction recovery advocates, and support workers. These officials will provide updates on current initiatives and invite feedback on how they can better address community safety concerns.

“This meeting offers residents an opportunity to learn about progress in addressing these pressing issues, contribute their own ideas, and explore how everyone can play a part in reducing drug use and knife carrying,” said Harbi Farah, Cabinet Member for Public Safety and Partnerships.

Organised by the Brent Safer Neighbourhood Board (SNB), the event aims to foster collaboration between the community and law enforcement. The SNB, which includes members of the council and local stakeholders, will work with the police to ensure residents’ concerns are acted upon following the meeting.

Brent residents are urged to participate in this vital conversation to help make the borough a safer place for all.
