Addiscombe has been announced as the next area to benefit from a tailored three-week blitz clean under Croydon Council’s Cleaner Croydon campaign. The initiative, led by Executive Mayor Jason Perry, aims to restore pride in the borough by creating a cleaner and more inviting environment for residents and businesses.
The blitz clean will involve a dedicated squad tackling a range of improvements based on feedback from the community. Planned activities include replacing worn street signs and bollards, repairing damaged footways, refreshing road line markings, and removing graffiti and fly-posting from lamp posts and windows.
Local businesses will also receive support and advice from the Council’s trading standards team during the campaign. Residents are encouraged to participate by reporting issues like fly-tipping, graffiti, and other environmental concerns through the Love Clean Streets app or the Council’s website.
“The blitz cleans in Norbury, Thornton Heath, and New Addington have made a really positive impact in each area,” said Mayor Perry. “I’m excited to work with residents and businesses to improve Addiscombe and help locals feel proud of their great high street. Clean streets are essential for creating safe, welcoming spaces where communities can thrive.”
The Council has emphasised its commitment to addressing environmental concerns promptly, clearing 98% of reported fly-tips within 24 hours. Residents and businesses can find more information on how to support ongoing maintenance through the Cleaner Croydon campaign.
