In 2026, the series will expand to include more characters, with a book dedicated to Professor Albus Dumbledore, illustrated by Paola Escobar
Bloomsbury Children’s Books has unveiled an exciting new project for fans of JK Rowling’s legendary Harry Potter series. Titled Pocket Potters: Little Guides to the Harry Potter Stories, this illustrated series will offer readers a fresh and fun way to experience the wizarding world. The books are set to launch in August 2025, with the first three focusing on Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger, followed by more character-driven titles in 2026 and beyond.
Designed for readers aged 7 to 10, though sure to appeal to older fans as well, these captivating guides will offer humorous insights, memorable moments, and fun facts from the Harry Potter universe. The small, colorful guides will explore everything from magical spells and wizarding sports to fantastical creatures and quirky Hogwarts happenings.
Each book will combine easy-to-read text with vibrant illustrations, capturing the essence of the characters and the magical world. Pocket Potters promises to introduce younger audiences to the wizarding world while delighting long-time fans with fresh perspectives on their favorite characters.
“We wanted to create affordable, playful guides that fans of all ages can read, share, and collect,” said Mandy Archer, Head of Harry Potter Publishing at Bloomsbury. “Our research showed that there’s a younger generation eager to engage with the wizarding world in new ways, and the Pocket Potters series is designed to meet that need.”
The books will be illustrated by a talented group of international artists. Natalie Smillie will bring Harry Potter’s journey to life, capturing key moments such as broomstick flights and dragon encounters. Olia Muza will illustrate Ron Weasley’s humorous and adventurous moments, while Laura Proietti will depict Hermione Granger’s intellect and bravery, including scenes like potion brewing and attending the Yule Ball.
In 2026, the series will expand to include more characters, with a book dedicated to Professor Albus Dumbledore, illustrated by Paola Escobar. Fans can expect even more magical adventures as the series grows.
To support the launch, Bloomsbury will launch a global marketing campaign, including social media engagement and Harry Potter Book Day events in October. The books will be available in 25 languages, connecting readers and fans worldwide.
The series will be available globally, with rights secured by Bloomsbury (excluding the USA) in collaboration with JK Rowling’s agents, The Blair Partnership. This ensures that the magic of Pocket Potters will be shared with fans across the world.
