Directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by industry heavyweights Jerry Bruckheimer, Lewis Hamilton, and Brad Pitt himself, ‘F1’ offers an intense look into the high-octane world of Formula One racing
Brad Pitt’s new film has “reinvigorated” his love for acting, bringing fresh excitement to his long and successful career. The 61-year-old actor is set to return to the big screen with the highly anticipated sports drama ‘F1’, scheduled for release on June 28, 2025. Speaking in a recent interview with GQ, Pitt revealed that working on the movie rekindled his passion for storytelling and filmmaking.
“Man, I’ve been doing this for a while and was wondering: Do I have more stories to tell? Do I have anything to add to this? Is there still any excitement I can find from this?” Pitt said. “(‘F1’) just reinvigorated the whole thing again for me.”
Directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by industry heavyweights Jerry Bruckheimer, Lewis Hamilton, and Brad Pitt himself, ‘F1’ offers an intense look into the high-octane world of Formula One racing. Pitt stars as Sonny Hayes, a former Formula One driver who returns to the sport to mentor a promising young talent, played by Damson Idris. The cast also includes notable actors such as Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, and Javier Bardem.
To capture the authenticity of the racing scenes, filming took place at various Grand Prix events, including the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. The production involved close collaboration with all ten Formula One teams and their drivers to ensure the sport is portrayed with accuracy and excitement.

Alongside ‘F1’, Brad Pitt has also been working on another project, ‘Heart of the Beast’, an action-adventure film directed by David Ayer. Filmed in Queenstown, New Zealand, the movie follows a former Navy SEAL stranded in the Alaskan wilderness. Pitt stars alongside J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe. He spent nearly three months on location for the intense shoot.
Reflecting on his life during the GQ interview, Pitt acknowledged the media scrutiny he has faced throughout his career but shared that he now feels grounded and secure thanks to his strong circle of family and friends.
‘F1’ will premiere in New York City on June 16, followed by its London premiere at Leicester Square on June 23. The film’s release coincides with the 2025 Austrian Grand Prix, perfectly timed for racing fans worldwide.
