A new study by British Lion Eggs reveals an interesting dietary trend among Gen Zers, those born between 1997 and 2012. A significant portion of this demographic is moving away from sugary treats and opting for high-protein foods to meet their nutritional needs. According to the study, 31% of Gen Z respondents have turned their backs on indulgent snacks like chocolate cake, while 25% have distanced themselves from the classic British tea-time ritual of sipping a cup of tea with dairy milk and sugar.
Instead, Gen Z is reaching for more wholesome and protein-packed snacks, including chicken breast, hard-boiled eggs, protein shakes, Greek yogurt, and nuts. This shift reflects a growing focus on health and fitness within this generation, with many opting for foods that help them stay fuller for longer, manage their weight, and build muscle strength.

A spokesman for British Lion Eggs shared insights into this shift, stating, “It is clear to see that health-conscious Brits are looking to change up their snack routine. They want to increase their protein each day so that they can stay fuller for longer, manage their weight, and stay strong.”
