Heartfulness Manchester welcomed nearly 60 participants to Stretford Public Hall for a special event aimed at enhancing wellbeing through meditation and yoga. The gathering was graced by the Mayor of Trafford, Councillor Amy Whyte, a consistent supporter of Heartfulness initiatives in the region.

In today’s fast-paced world, stress, tension, and anxiety have become all too common. This event highlighted how simple relaxation and meditation techniques can bring about calm, improve health, and increase overall happiness. Attendees experienced firsthand how these practices can be easily incorporated into busy daily routines, offering essential moments of tranquility and self-connection.

“In response to the challenges of modern life, Heartfulness offers practical techniques for finding inner calm,” said Sri Kamlesh D. Patel (Daaji), President and guide of Heartfulness. “The first step is to still the turbulence of a restless mind and heart. Heartfulness practices help us reach a state where we can remain peaceful under all circumstances.”
Heartfulness is a global non-profit organization that supports individuals in more than 160 countries with free, heart-based meditation and yoga practices. With over 5,000 community meditation centers—known as “Heartspots”—and more than 500,000 volunteers worldwide, the movement continues to make wellness accessible to all, regardless of background or circumstances.
The Manchester event reflected the organization’s commitment to promoting what the World Health Organization defines as essential to wellbeing—not merely the absence of illness, but the presence of physical, mental, and social resources that allow individuals to fully participate in life.

“When we’re constantly under pressure from work, family responsibilities, or the nonstop flow of news and social media, we often don’t notice the impact until our health begins to suffer,” said one of the event organizers. “Learning to relax is not a luxury—it’s vital for our emotional and physical wellbeing.”

The Heartfulness approach remains free of charge and is open to adults over the age of 18, making it an inclusive and accessible resource for all. As the event concluded, many participants expressed a sense of calm and renewed energy, with several sharing their intent to continue practicing and attend future sessions.
