Meghan:’ The Happiest I’ve Ever Been’

Married to Prince Harry and mother to Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, Meghan painted a picture of contentment grounded in love, balance, and intention

In a rare and heartfelt appearance at the TIME100 Summit in New York, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, shared a glimpse into her current life and emotional well-being, revealing that she is “the happiest [she’s] ever been.” Now 43, Meghan radiated joy as she reflected on the deep fulfillment she finds in her family and purpose-driven work.

“I’m the happiest I’ve ever been,” Meghan said, her smile warm and genuine. “To have a partner and a husband who is so supportive and have healthy kids who are so joyful … I never would have imagined at this point I would feel so happy and grateful, and I really do.”

Married to Prince Harry and mother to Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, Meghan painted a picture of contentment grounded in love, balance, and intention. Despite being one of the most talked-about public figures, the Duchess has crafted a life insulated from the often harsh glare of public scrutiny—a deliberate choice rooted in self-care and responsibility.

Addressing the challenges of fame and criticism, Meghan was candid about her mental health strategies. “I’ve made a very, very conscious effort to create boundaries for myself and for my mental health, for my well-being and certainly to role model that as well for my children,” she explained. These personal boundaries have become essential not just for her peace of mind, but also as a guiding principle in how she raises her children.
Meghan also reflected deeply on her approach to parenting. While proud to be raising a strong and confident daughter, she emphasized the importance of raising her son with the same level of emotional intelligence and awareness. “I think it’s just as paramount of importance for young men to be raised with a confidence and sense of self that is going to empower the women around them too,” she noted.

Her inner strength, she said, stems from a focused, grounded mindset. “When I am able to not even just tune out whatever that noise is, [but] to really not give it any credence, that has become so much a part of my day-to-day life.” This mindful approach has also influenced how she engages with media and public discourse. “Things will get brought to my attention on a need-to-know basis,” she said. “That’s part of what I find to bring me peace.” It’s also what allows her to focus her energy on creative and purposeful work, including projects through her and Harry’s Archewell Productions.

Her impact, even in moments of quiet, hasn’t gone unnoticed. Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos recently praised her cultural influence, noting that “people are fascinated with Meghan Markle,” recalling how simple details from her appearances—like her fashion choices—can spark global trends.
Meghan’s story is no longer about royal drama or headlines. It’s about a woman who has reclaimed her peace, built a joyful home, and is using her voice, quietly and powerfully, to shape the world around her.
