Beckham Calls Fatherhood His Greatest Role

The heartfelt messages come just days after Beckham was awarded a knighthood in recognition of his contributions to sports and charitable work

Sir David Beckham has described being a dad as the “most important and favourite job” in his life, marking Father’s Day with a heartfelt message to his children. The 50-year-old former footballer, who shares four children—Brooklyn, 26, Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and Harper Seven, 13—with his wife Lady Victoria Beckham, took to Instagram on Sunday (15 June 2025) to share his love and pride for his family.

Posting a touching tribute, Beckham wrote: “My most important and favourite job in life is being a dad… I’m so proud of all of you and like daddy (sorry boys) tells you every single day I will always be here for you no matter what. “Mummy thank you for doing the most important part and making me a father—there is no greater gift in life than making me a dad. Happy Father’s Day… I love you kiddies more than you could imagine.”

Among the many responses was a comment from Romeo, who replied, “Love you always” followed by several white heart emojis, underscoring the close bond the family continues to share in the public eye.

Just hours earlier, Victoria Beckham, 51, also paid tribute to her husband, calling him the “best daddy there is.” In her own Instagram post to her 33 million followers, she praised David’s love and leadership as a father.
“Happy Father’s Day to the best daddy there is! You always lead with love and our four beautiful children are a reflection of that. We all love you so so much!!” she wrote.

The heartfelt messages come just days after Beckham was awarded a knighthood in recognition of his contributions to sports and charitable work. Reflecting on the honour, the former England captain shared his pride and gratitude.

“Growing up in East London with parents and grandparents who were so patriotic and proud to be British, I never could have imagined I would receive such a truly humbling honour. “To have played for and captained my country was the greatest privilege of my career, and literally a boyhood dream come true.”
He added,

“It will take a little while for the news to sink in but I’m immensely proud and it’s such an emotional moment for me to share with my family.”
Now officially Sir David, Beckham continues to balance global recognition with a down-to-earth devotion to his family, reaffirming his role as not just a football icon but a father first.
