Billy Idol Announces UK Return with Wembley Arena Show

The OVO Arena show will mark one of only two UK dates for Billy Idol in 2025. Prior to his Wembley performance, he will also headline the Forever Now Festival at The National Bowl in Milton Keynes on June 22, making this his first time playing in the UK in three years

Billy Idol is gearing up for an electrifying return to the UK stage this summer, announcing a headline show at the OVO Arena Wembley on June 24. The punk rock legend, who has just received a nomination for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, will be joined by post-punk rockers New Model Army for an unforgettable night in the British capital.

Speaking about the upcoming performance, Idol, 69, expressed his excitement: “Every time we play Wembley we have an absolute blast, and this summer will be no exception!” Fans can expect a high-energy set from the ‘White Wedding’ hitmaker, whose music continues to captivate generations of rock fans.

The OVO Arena show will mark one of only two UK dates for Billy Idol in 2025. Prior to his Wembley performance, he will also headline the Forever Now Festival at The National Bowl in Milton Keynes on June 22, making this his first time playing in the UK in three years.

Tickets for the OVO Wembley Arena gig will go on sale at 10am GMT on Friday, February 21, 2025, available via www.aegpresents.co.uk/billy-idol.
Idol’s announcement follows the recent news that he has been nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a milestone that has left the iconic musician “knocked out.” In an interview with Ultimate Classic Rock, he reflected on the honor of the nomination, saying, “If I do get to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, you really get a chance to thank your fans. That’s what I like about it. You get a chance to really thank everybody who supported you through thick and thin.”

Idol also shared his amazement at the longevity of his career, reminiscing about his early days in music. “When we started out, we didn’t know how long anything was going to last. We were doing it for the love, thinking maybe it would last a few months or a year or two. And look, here we are 50 years later,” he said.

For the punk rock icon, the most rewarding part of his career has been the impact he’s had on other musicians. “You hear that you’ve influenced people. I know ‘Kiss Me Deadly’ is Billie Joe Armstrong’s favorite song. Things like that are really amazing, because you don’t think of that when you start out,” Idol said, reflecting on the power of music and the connections it creates.
