Bohemia has not revealed a specific release date but confirmed the expansion will be available on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. It’s unclear whether PC and PlayStation versions will follow
Bohemia Interactive has officially announced DayZ: Badlands, the game’s largest-ever expansion map, set to launch in 2026. The 267 km² desert region is called Nasdara, located west of Chernarus and bordering Takistan.
Described as a “vast, desert-themed wasteland,” Badlands introduces a harsh, inland environment filled with cracked soil, sand-swept plains, arid mountains, and ruins marked by past conflict.
The new biome brings added survival challenges, including managing drought, dehydration, and extreme climate exposure. Players can expect desert-specific infected variants, gear, cosmetics, and firearms tailored to the environment.
Bohemia has not revealed a specific release date but confirmed the expansion will be available on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. It’s unclear whether PC and PlayStation versions will follow.
Badlands aligns with Bohemia’s post-Frostline roadmap and continues to expand the universe of DayZ, which remains available on Xbox Game Pass. However, the new expansion will likely be a separate purchase.
More details, including weather systems, vehicle options, and gear updates, are expected ahead of the 2026 release.
