Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles has opened up about her long journey toward embracing her skin and appearance, revealing it took her 22 years to feel fully confident in her complexion.
Now 24, the celebrated athlete shared that she has struggled with acne and scarring in the past, but her perspective has shifted dramatically. “I have [acne] scars here and there, but now I’m finally at a point where I’m positive with myself and my skin,” Chiles told Refinery29. “Literally, it took me 22 years to finally be like, look, Jordan, you’re a gorgeous girl. You have beautiful skin. Embrace that.”
With sensitive skin, Chiles prefers a minimal and effective skincare routine. “A majority of the time, I only use a good cleanser, an exfoliator, and then a nice, silky moisturiser,” she explained. “I keep it very simple, but make sure everything is hydrated and my skin looks good and glowy.”
Chiles recently became the face of Hero Cosmetics, a brand known for its pimple patches and gentle skincare solutions. She’s particularly fond of the Mighty Patch hydrocolloid stickers. “People always ask me, ‘What do you do for your skincare?’ So I was really happy Hero wanted me to be one of their ambassadors,” she said.

Jordan also swears by Hero’s Pore Purity Cleansing Clay Mask, which she uses two to three times a week to keep her skin smooth and her pores clear.
Even while competing, Chiles embraces beauty and glamour. Known for her standout nail art and fluttery lashes, she credits her older sister, who is also her hair and makeup artist, for inspiring her to enjoy and experiment with her look. “Glam is something to enjoy, have fun with, and be creative,” Chiles said.
