Kenney Jones Unveils Rare Small Faces Boxset for 60th Anniversary

The vinyl set includes a 68-page hardback book featuring sleeve notes, track details, rare memorabilia, and unseen photos. For the first time, the band’s name will appear on the album cover, correcting a mistake from the 1969 release

Legendary drummer Kenney Jones is set to release a new boxset featuring rare and unreleased Small Faces tracks, marking the 60th anniversary of British record label Immediate Records.

The 3LP coloured vinyl and 3CD expanded editions of The Autumn Stone, the band’s final album from 1969, will be available from March 28 through Jones’ Nice Records. Newly mastered by Nick Robbins, the collection includes stripped-down acoustic mixes highlighting the late Steve Marriott’s vocals, alongside previously unreleased recordings like Olympic Jam (“one more!”) and an alternative version of Red Balloon.

The original The Autumn Stone compilation was rush-released following the band’s split, leading Marriott to form Humble Pie. Now, fans can get a limited-edition ‘autumn stone and gold’ 180-gram vinyl boxset, with only 3,000 numbered copies available—750 of which are signed by Jones and photographer Gered Mankowitz.

The vinyl set includes a 68-page hardback book featuring sleeve notes, track details, rare memorabilia, and unseen photos. For the first time, the band’s name will appear on the album cover, correcting a mistake from the 1969 release.

Jones has also signed a licensing deal with BMG for Nice Records to distribute Immediate Records releases in the UK.
Meanwhile, The Faces’ long-awaited comeback album remains uncertain. Rod Stewart recently admitted the band—featuring Jones and Ronnie Wood—has struggled to complete the project, despite revisiting unreleased material. Jones previously revealed that the album would be a mix of old and new tracks, with modern re-recordings of lost sessions.
