Melanie C Finds Inspiration in DJing and Exploring New Sounds

Though still learning the technical aspects of DJing, Melanie admitted it makes her more nervous than singing live

Melanie C is embracing the art of DJing and feeling “super inspired” by the opportunity to blend various music genres. The 51-year-old pop star, known for her Spice Girls fame, shared her excitement about merging her DJing and solo work on The Rebecca Judd Show on Apple Music 1.
“I love so many genres of music, but right now DJing, I’m super inspired by that,” she explained. “I really want to bring my work as a DJ and my solo work as an artist a bit closer together.”

Though still learning the technical aspects of DJing, Melanie admitted it makes her more nervous than singing live. “There are so many things that can go wrong and I’m still learning,” she said. “If something goes wrong on the decks, I’m like, ‘Help! Loop Loop!’”

The singer also reflected on her latest solo album, revealing her joy in working with new female artists like Rose Gray and Uffie. “It’s so lovely to get more women on the record,” she said, highlighting the empowering experience of collaborating with fresh talent.
