Though a longtime style muse, she admits her twin daughters, Tabitha and Marion, who turn 16 in June, aren’t exactly clamouring to raid her closet. “Their feet are the wrong size, and it’s not going backwards,” she quipped
Sarah Jessica Parker has declared she has zero fashion regrets—no matter how unflattering or over-the-top some past outfits may have been.
The Sex and the City icon, 60, told W Magazine that revisiting past wardrobe choices with shame serves no purpose. “I don’t regret any of it, because what’s the point?” she said. “There’s a laundry list of things I should be telling you were mistakes… but all of it has been a gift.”
Calling her fashion journey “ridiculous,” “exhausting,” and “thrilling,” Parker added, “All of it has been like I’m in a world that is just barely based in reality. What is there to regret?”
Though a longtime style muse, she admits her twin daughters, Tabitha and Marion, who turn 16 in June, aren’t exactly clamouring to raid her closet. “Their feet are the wrong size, and it’s not going backwards,” she quipped. “They like clothing, but it’s not playing an oversize role in their life.”
Despite her no-regrets mantra, Parker once confessed she did wish she’d worn a white gown to her 1997 wedding to Matthew Broderick. The actress wore black on her big day because she was “too embarrassed to spend any time looking for a wedding dress,” she revealed on Watch What Happens Live in 2016.
She also told Marie Claire that both she and Broderick wanted to avoid too much attention: “I was too embarrassed to get married in white… which is ridiculous, because that’s when you can relish the attention.”
Even so, the fashion-forward star stands by her style evolution—missteps and all—as a reflection of the life she’s lived, unfiltered and unapologetic.
