The Stranglers Announce Special 51st Anniversary UK Tour with Buzzcocks

The ‘51’ tour kicks off on October 17, 2025, at the O2 Academy in Leeds, with shows in cities including Manchester, Newcastle, Bristol, and Brighton

Punk rock legends The Stranglers are hitting the road this fall to celebrate an impressive 51 years in the music industry with a special UK tour. Known for their iconic hits such as “Golden Brown,” “No More Heroes,” and “Peaches,” the band will be joined by fellow punk pioneers Buzzcocks for most of the tour, marking a historic milestone in their career.

The ‘51’ tour kicks off on October 17, 2025, at the O2 Academy in Leeds, with shows in cities including Manchester, Newcastle, Bristol, and Brighton. A highlight of the tour will be a two-night residency at the renowned Roundhouse in London. In an Instagram post, the band reflected on their longevity, saying, “They say ‘making it to a goal is one thing, but making it further is even better.’ We are thrilled to announce The Stranglers ’51’ UK Tour.

Fifty-one years on the road and still going strong.” While Buzzcocks will join The Stranglers for all dates except those in Edinburgh and Aberdeen, these Scottish gigs will feature a special support act to be revealed later. Fans will be treated to a unique blend of classic punk as both bands share the stage during this landmark tour. The Stranglers, consisting of founding member Jean-Jacques Burnel, Baz Warne, Jim Macaulay, and Toby Hounsham, continue to tour despite the loss of their beloved keyboard player Dave Greenfield. Greenfield, who had been with the band since 1975, tragically passed away in May 2020 due to complications from COVID-19. The band mourned the loss of their “keyboard wizard” and remembered his warm and eccentric personality, describing him as a “lovable, friendly” character who always had time for a chat.

As The Stranglers gear up for their 51st year, they carry with them the memory of Greenfield’s contribution to their iconic sound. The ‘51’ tour promises to be a celebration of punk rock history, as the band continues to honor their legacy and keep the spirit of the genre alive for new generations of fans.
