Zara Larsson Praises Tate McRae and Sabrina Carpenter, Teases New Music

Larsson is also gearing up to join McRae on the road for the highly anticipated Miss Possessive Tour. “We’re going out on tour together. So maybe we’ll become good friends,” she said, looking forward to what’s sure to be an exciting new chapter

Zara Larsson is celebrating the new generation of pop stars — and she’s more than ready to be part of their journey. The 28-year-old singer, who first broke onto the scene with her 2013 debut EP, recently opened up about her admiration for rising talents Tate McRae and Sabrina Carpenter. Speaking to Variety during an episode of Know Their Lyrics, Larsson couldn’t hide her excitement.

“I’m so excited about the new pop girls. Tate McRae, I’m obsessed with her. Sabrina [Carpenter], like come on, she’s such a star,” she gushed. Larsson and Carpenter already share a musical connection, having collaborated on a remix of Larsson’s hit single “WOW.” “I’ve loved her for a long time — before ‘Espresso’ and before the Taylor Swift tour,” she added, referencing Carpenter’s breakout moments.

Larsson is also gearing up to join McRae on the road for the highly anticipated Miss Possessive Tour. “We’re going out on tour together. So maybe we’ll become good friends,” she said, looking forward to what’s sure to be an exciting new chapter.

Meanwhile, Larsson’s 2017 hit “Symphony” has been enjoying a fresh wave of popularity thanks to TikTok — but she’s quick to remind fans that the track was a success long before its viral resurgence. “I saw one comment on my [TikTok] video saying, ‘Flex. I knew the song before it became a trend.’ And I’m like, yeah — so did a billion other people,” she laughed.
With over 1.3 billion views on YouTube, “Symphony” has long been a global anthem. Larsson believes its TikTok revival is proof that great music is timeless. “A classic good song is always a good song no matter the time,” she said. “It’s amazing timing that I got back into people’s consciousness.”
As for what’s next, Larsson teased that she’s deep into new music — and it’s something fans won’t want to miss. “I am working on new music that makes me so excited for people to hear,” she revealed
