£10.5m Investment to revamp Neasden Town Centre

The project aligns with Brent’s broader vision for growth in Neasden and Staples Corner, with potential for up to 7,000 new homes in the area. Nearby neighbourhoods like Wembley and Church End are also poised to benefit from the ripple effects of this regeneration effort.

Neasden Town Centre is set for a major transformation following Brent Council’s approval of a £10.5 million investment on 15 January 2025. This funding combines £3.1 million from the Mayor of London’s Civic Partnership Programme with £7.4 million from Brent Council, marking a significant step in the town centre’s redevelopment.

The ambitious plans aim to create a greener, safer, and more accessible environment for residents and visitors alike. Key improvements include expanded green spaces, a rejuvenated high street, additional pedestrian and cyclist crossings, and a new community hub, “The Lighthouse.” This multifunctional pavilion will serve as a beacon for culture, enterprise, and community engagement.

The project aligns with Brent’s broader vision for growth in Neasden and Staples Corner, with potential for up to 7,000 new homes in the area. Nearby neighbourhoods like Wembley and Church End are also poised to benefit from the ripple effects of this regeneration effort.

Councillor Muhammed Butt, Leader of Brent Council and Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Planning and Growth, expressed enthusiasm about the project: “This is fantastic news for everyone that lives and works around Neasden. With this investment, we can look forward to a revitalised high street and a more connected and sustainable community.”

“We will be working closely with our partners, local residents and businesses, to ensure that Neasden will benefit from a more connected and sustainable community.”-Cllr Muhammed Butt

Deputy Mayor for Planning, Regeneration and the Fire Service, Jules Pipe, praised the initiative: “This project will empower the local community to shape their town centre while creating a high-quality, sustainable public space for work and play. It’s a step towards building a fairer, greener, and more prosperous London for all.”

The redevelopment of Neasden Town Centre promises to deliver not only aesthetic and functional improvements but also economic growth, making it a vibrant hub for future generations.
