Fresh Faces Join Lambeth Cabinet

The appointments mark the start of a new municipal year, with council leadership focusing on delivering services in a tough economic climate

At its Annual Council meeting on Wednesday, April 23, Lambeth Council confirmed a refreshed Cabinet team, with councillors approving nominations put forward by Council Leader Claire Holland.

Among the new appointments is Cllr David Bridson, who represents Brixton Acre Lane. He will share the role of Cabinet Member for Healthier Communities with Cllr Nanda Manley-Browne. Cllr Bridson brings personal insight to the role as a care leaver and member of Lambeth’s LGBTQ+ community.

Cllr Judith Cavanagh has been appointed Deputy Cabinet Member for Finance, supporting Cllr David Amos as the council navigates ongoing financial pressures.

Cllr Timothy Windle is stepping down from the Cabinet, with the Council Leader expressing her gratitude for his contributions.

“I want to thank Cllr Tim Windle for his work, stepping in and stepping up; his contributions will be sorely missed in cabinet,” said Cllr Holland.
In a statement, Cllr Holland described the new team as one that “reflects the wonderful diversity of our borough,” and said she was “delighted” to welcome new members and policy leads into key roles.

The meeting also saw Cllr Adrian Garden, who represents Brixton Rush Common, elected as Mayor of Lambeth for 2025–26, succeeding Cllr John-Paul Ennis, who will now serve as Policy Lead for Young People.
