Hounslow Joins Equal Movement

British Airways’ Director of Sustainability, Carrie Harris, added: “We’re delighted to support Think Equal through our community fund

Schools in Hounslow are being invited to take part in the final year of Think Equal, a global award-winning programme designed to support emotional and social development in children aged three to six. Founded by acclaimed actor and BAFTA-winning director Leslee Udwin, the initiative aims to equip young learners with vital life skills such as empathy, resilience, and emotional awareness—skills proven to foster long-term academic and personal success.

Having already been adopted in over 70 classrooms across the borough, Think Equal enters its third and final year in Hounslow. This marks the last opportunity for local schools to enrol and integrate its structured content into early years education. The programme, funded by British Airways through its BA Better World Community Fund, offers free access to a comprehensive package of resources designed to promote social and emotional learning (SEL).

Participating schools will receive 24 narrative picture books designed to engage young minds, 90 structured lesson plans focused on developing emotional literacy, over 50 supplementary resources to support classroom and home learning, and self-paced online training for teachers to ensure smooth implementation.

Councillor Samia Chaudhary, Cabinet Member for Education, Children, Skills and Employment at Hounslow Council, encouraged more schools to join: “As a Council, we are committed to supporting the well-being and development of our youngest learners. I urge all schools in Hounslow to join the 70 others already enrolled. This initiative provides invaluable tools for nurturing emotional intelligence and resilience in our children, setting them on a path to success both in school and in life.”

British Airways’ Director of Sustainability, Carrie Harris, added: “We’re delighted to support Think Equal through our community fund. By working together, we can help give children the best start in life through inclusive and forward-thinking education.”

Hounslow schools interested in joining must apply during the current academic year to benefit from this final opportunity.
