Journalism is returning to the Mecca of British media—Fleet Street. London Daily, which is set to hit the newsstands on Wednesday, will be the city’s first daily digital evening newspaper, complemented by a monthly curated print edition. Most prominent people in the project include Mihir Bose, former BBC Sport Editor; veteran journalist Nigel Dudley; the Sunday Times Economics Editor David Smith, Asian Lite editor Anasudhin Azeez; media strategist Sanjay Shabi; and academic Colin Crooks, MBE.

The London Daily will address the gap created by the repositioning of the Evening Standard and City AM. Its daily digital edition will be released at noon at its website www.ldd.news and freely accessible to readers after registration. The copies are free to download from the digital news kiosk www.epaper.ldd.news. The monthly print edition, with a print run of 100,000 copies distributed across all 32 London boroughs, will be priced at £5.
Headquartered at Fleet House near Fleet Street, London Daily aims to revive the legacy of the iconic street. The editorial policy is focussing on “News is Local.” The newspaper wants to connect London’s diverse communities through local news and events. Tagline of the London Daily is “Local Paper for the Global City.”

The editorial team is committed to bringing back the glory of Fleet Street with initiatives like: A Museum for News: Modelled after Washington’s Newseum, this project aims to preserve and celebrate journalism’s rich history.
Fleet Street Walk of Fame: Honouring media icons like Alistair Cooke and fallen stars such as Marie Colvin with Metallic Stars or Blue Plaques on both sides of the Fleet Street.
London Darbar: A monthly media forum at St Bride’s Church, providing young media students an opportunity to engage with industry maestros.
Anasudhin Azeez, Executive Editor, said: “London Daily Digital is on a mission to revive Fleet Street’s legacy and uphold the principles of the media giants who once walked this storied path. The history of modern Britain is deeply intertwined with Fleet Street. Through a digital daily and a monthly print edition, we aim to rekindle its age-old legacy. We are trying to bring back the missionary values of journalism.
Mihir Bose, Consulting Editor, said: “London can rightly claim to be the greatest city in the world. Yet, as we enter the second quarter of the 21st century, it lacks a single evening paper—an astonishing reality, considering it had three until the 1960s. London is not just one city—it’s a collection of villages, each with its own character. From Westminster’s political power to the City of London’s financial dominance, these ‘villages’ are unique. While some are well-covered, many remain overlooked.

London Daily Digital aims to bridge this gap by spotlighting stories from all 32 boroughs. For example, Hampstead, an intellectual hub, differs vastly from its neighbours Golders Green and Highgate. Similarly, Notting Hill, once marked by racial tensions, is now a prestigious neighbourhood, while the East End, once a haven for Jewish immigrants, is now a vibrant hub for the Bangladeshi community. We aim to capture London’s evolving identity—its financial clout, political influence, and cultural creativity.”
Sanjay Shabi, Advisor, media Strategy, said: London daily digital is an exciting new voice to the UK’s media landscape, bringing fresh perspectives and dynamic commentary. With a commitment to delivering topical, engaging content accurately, this innovative news brand seeks to become a trusted source for in-depth features and local insights. Designed for the modern reader, it aims to keep its audience informed and involved. Whether it’s politics, culture, business or entertainment, LDD is here to keep Londoners connected to the pulse of the city and beyond.
Colin Crooks, MBE, said: “The new government has ambitious plans to create two million jobs. To achieve this goal all business sectors will need to work hard and creatively with them. The SMART programme will work with young people and employers in innovative ways, to overcome preconceptions and open minds to new ideas.

In today’s fast-evolving media landscape, London Daily Digital blends tradition with innovation. The monthly print edition celebrates the tactile experience of the written word, while the daily digital edition ensures Londoners stay informed in real-time. As a community-focused publication, London Daily is launching initiatives to amplify diverse voices, including Women’s Forum, Business Forum and Youth Festival. The newspaper is also planning to host a Film Festival, a Literary Festival and events honouring excellence in legal, health, hospitality, and real estate sectors.
The newspaper also envisions a London Economic Forum this summer, showcasing investment opportunities and reclaiming London’s historic status as the world’s commercial capital.
