London Hosts Global Leaders at BETT 2025, Shaping Education’s Future

Prof. Abbes Amira, Dean of the College of Computing and Informatics, led the University delegation and emphasized the importance of UoS’s involvement in specialized exhibitions such as BETT.

The University of Sharjah (UoS) made a significant mark at the British Educational Training and Technology Conference and Exhibition (BETT 2025), held in London from January 20 to 24. The University, participating as part of the official delegation from Sharjah, was coordinated by the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SEPA). Along with UoS, representatives from the universities of Khorfakkan, Kalba, and Al Dhaid also took part in this prestigious event.

At BETT 2025, the University of Sharjah highlighted its latest advancements in educational technology, presenting key pillars of its strategic plan for 2024–2030. The university’s focus on digital transformation, innovation, and academic excellence was prominently displayed, reflecting its ongoing commitment to embracing and implementing cutting-edge technological solutions in education.

Prof. Abbes Amira, Dean of the College of Computing and Informatics, led the University delegation and emphasized the importance of UoS’s involvement in specialized exhibitions such as BETT. He stated that the event was a vital step in supporting the University’s EDGE strategy, which prioritizes digital transformation, academic excellence, and the integration of innovative technologies into the educational process. Prof. Amira also highlighted the opportunity to explore technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the metaverse, both of which are shaping the future of education.

“The University’s participation at BETT provides an invaluable platform to collaborate with leading global institutions and explore the future of educational technologies,” said Prof. Amira. “Our focus is on fostering innovation, enhancing teaching methods, and improving student engagement, which will lead to better academic outcomes and career readiness.”

The exhibition featured major global technology companies, including Microsoft, Meta, and Google, offering the University a chance to explore new educational practices and technologies. Prof. Shareefa Al Marzooqi, Director of the Media Centre, stressed the importance of modernizing teaching methods and aligning with global trends, particularly the use of AI to refine educational content delivery and enhance student skills.

“The University’s participation in this year’s exhibition underscores our efforts to integrate AI and other advanced technologies into education, improving both the learning experience and academic outcomes,” said Prof. Al Marzooqi. “We are committed to providing our students with the tools they need to succeed in an increasingly digital world.”

The University of Sharjah’s participation in BETT 2025 highlights its position as a forward-thinking institution, focused on digital transformation and the adoption of new technologies to improve education. This event also further strengthens its standing as a hub for innovation, academic excellence, and global collaboration in the field of education.
