London’s ICLDC Boosts Diabetes Care with New Partnerships

CareConnect offers a streamlined and user-friendly digital interface, prioritizing patient-centric care. Caregivers receive custom notifications for critical events such as abnormal glucose levels or device malfunctions, enhancing timely interventions.

Imperial College London Diabetes Centre (ICLDC), part of the M42 group, has signed two strategic agreements aimed at advancing diabetes care and strengthening its commitment to patient empowerment and precision medicine. The announcements were made during Arab Health, currently underway in Dubai.

The first partnership is with Medtronic, a leading healthcare technology solutions provider. ICLDC, which already cares for more than 1,000 patients in Abu Dhabi through Medtronic’s CareLink™ platform, will now transition to the company’s advanced CareConnect and GALAXY platforms.

CareConnect offers a streamlined and user-friendly digital interface, prioritizing patient-centric care. Caregivers receive custom notifications for critical events such as abnormal glucose levels or device malfunctions, enhancing timely interventions. The platform also supports remote patient monitoring, enabling physicians to manage patients through tailored communication channels while reducing the need for in-person clinical visits.

Additionally, Medtronic’s GALAXY platform will deliver customized reporting and clinical insights, allowing healthcare providers to focus on individual patient needs and broader operational objectives. By aggregating patient data, GALAXY provides a comprehensive overview of health trends, facilitating strategic improvements in clinical outcomes.

ICLDC also announced a collaboration with Karaz, an innovative healthcare platform designed to consolidate patient data from various insulin and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) devices into a single dashboard. This integration aims to streamline caregivers’ workflows and enhance efficiency by reducing the need to access multiple software systems.

Dr. Mai Al Jaber, CEO of Outpatient Care at M42, emphasized the transformative nature of the agreements:

“Today marks a significant milestone in our relentless pursuit to revolutionize diabetes care. Imperial College London Diabetes Centre’s partnership with Medtronic reinforces our battle against diabetes by empowering patients. It also empowers caregivers to see the bigger picture, identify patients with risk factors, and apply evidence-based therapies in a risk-stratified manner.”

She highlighted the importance of adopting technology not just for its own sake but as a means to lead in integrated, proactive care that gives individuals better control of their health.

“Through Medtronic’s CareConnect and GALAXY platforms and our collaboration with Karaz, we’re setting a new standard for personalized care and improved health outcomes. This is a crucial milestone in reshaping diabetes care locally and globally.”

These agreements underscore ICLDC’s mission to leverage technology and innovation to deliver cutting-edge diabetes care, ensuring better health management and outcomes for patients in Abu Dhabi and beyond.
