Macbeth Centre Unveils 25 New Summer Courses

Among the new courses on offer are ballet, hand stitching, short language courses, and pottery throwing, thanks to the addition of new wheels in the centre’s state-of-the-art ceramics studio.

Residents of Hammersmith looking to learn a new skill or pick up a rewarding hobby this summer can now enrol in one of 25 brand-new courses at the Macbeth Centre.

Starting from Tuesday, 22 April, the centre will offer a wide range of classes covering everything from creative crafts to digital skills and fitness. Located just off King Street, the Macbeth Centre is known for its dynamic and inclusive approach to adult education, and this latest expansion provides even more opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Among the new courses on offer are ballet, hand stitching, short language courses, and pottery throwing, thanks to the addition of new wheels in the centre’s state-of-the-art ceramics studio.

To explore the full list of available courses and secure a place, visit the Macbeth Centre website or call 020 8753 3600.

A Programme for Everyone

The expanded summer programme caters to all interests and skill levels. Whether residents are looking to upskill for work, explore a new hobby, or connect with like-minded individuals in the community, the centre promises something for everyone.

Newly introduced accredited craft courses include stained glass, jewellery making, upholstery, and ceramics. The centre will also run free digital skills sessions and a cooking course designed to boost culinary confidence.

For those keen to improve their linguistic skills, Italian, Spanish, and French classes are available, alongside a new introductory British Sign Language (BSL) course.

New BSL tutor Maria Mavrommatis shared her enthusiasm: “I can’t wait to teach BSL at the Macbeth Centre. It is such a friendly and welcoming learning environment. I am passionate about BSL and enjoy making my lessons fun, interactive, and engaging. My goal is to inspire students, just as I was inspired, to learn BSL and continue their journey beyond the classroom.”

A full list of courses is available on the centre’s website, and early booking is encouraged as spaces fill up quickly.

Celebrating 150 Years of Learning

The expansion of the Macbeth Centre’s curriculum comes as the institution celebrates 150 years of providing education in Hammersmith. First opened in 1875, the centre has been a cornerstone of learning in the borough for generations.

To mark this milestone, a series of special events will take place throughout the year, including an arts and crafts exhibition and a free open day, allowing residents to experience the Macbeth Centre’s vibrant learning community firsthand.
