India’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Vikram Doraiswami, led the 11th International Day of Yoga celebrations at The Strand in London on Saturday, drawing vibrant participation from the Indian diaspora, yoga enthusiasts, and friends of India. The event, organised by the High Commission of India, was themed ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’, reflecting this year’s global message of unity, wellbeing, and sustainability.




Britain celebrated Windrush Day in tribute to the Caribbean men, women, and children who arrived in Britain after WWII to help rebuild the nation. In 2023, to mark the 75th anniversary of the HMT Empire Windrush’s arrival, The King commissioned ten artists to create portraits of pioneering Windrush Generation members. The Ukrainian president has met the King at Windsor Castle on Monday. Zelenskyy also met Commons Speaker Lindsay Hoyle during a visit to parliament on Monday afternoon before going to Downing Street. Newly-opened 28-mile walking route in north Kent is part of the 2,700-mile King Charles III England Coast Path. Trail covers wildlife haven and historical sites. The route, more than 80% of the island’s total coast path, was opened by Natural England on Tuesday. This section becomes part of what will be the world’s longest managed trail when all 2,700 miles are joined up.

Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, announced new funding to slash carbon emissions and unveiled a taskforce to drive more green investment in a keynote speech opening the Climate Innovation Forum during London Climate Action Week. Convened by the Mayor to help London attract the private investment required to reach net zero, the dedicated Climate Finance Taskforce will be chaired by Rhian-Mari Thomas, Chief Executive of the Green Finance Institute. It will bring together investors and stakeholders to develop strategies and solutions to unlock billions of pounds of private sector investment to help London reach net zero by 2030.
