This month, the borough’s ultra marathon and trail run is back – taking runners and walkers on an adventure through the borough’s scenic parks and green spaces.
The borough’s much-anticipated ultra marathon and trail run is back this month, offering runners and walkers a chance to explore Ealing’s scenic parks and green spaces in an event that prioritises inclusivity and community spirit.
Organised by We Run Ealing, the charity arm of the award-winning Ealing Half Marathon, the event is designed to encourage people of all abilities to get active. We Run Ealing was established to support community-focused running initiatives and create an environment where participation is more important than speed or distance.

A Community-Focused Approach
Tom Kerry, chair of We Run Ealing, emphasised the event’s ethos: “We know not everyone loves running, so we are trying to create a range of activities that appeal in different ways to help people get active on their own terms.
“We’re not about how far or how fast people can run, but about providing good experiences, connecting communities, and making running fun and enjoyable.”
We Run Ealing also runs an ambassador programme, bringing together local residents passionate about promoting physical activity and encouraging others to take up or return to running. The charity is actively looking for volunteers to join this initiative, with more details available on its website.
Exciting Routes Through Ealing’s Landmarks
Following its successful debut last year, the Queen of the Suburbs Ultra returns on 22 March with new Trail 25k and Ultra 50k routes, both finishing at Dickens Yard in central Ealing. Participants will traverse some of the borough’s most picturesque locations, including the River Brent, Grand Union Canal, and Horsenden Hill.
“The aim of the event is to encourage people to get active and enjoy the outdoors,” said Tom. “It’s not just a race; it’s a celebration of endurance, community, and Ealing’s vibrant spirit. It’s a social event outdoors. Come along, cheer the runners, and enjoy the market at Dickens Yard.”
