OMG Honored with Commonwealth Secretary-General’s Special Award

A key feature of OMG’s educational approach is Raya, the world’s first AI-powered Sustainable Education Agent, developed in collaboration with Polar AI, pioneers in cognitive artificial intelligence

In a landmark achievement for youth-led innovation, OMG, an Indian initiative founded by brothers Suchith and Sourabh Sindhe, has been awarded the prestigious Commonwealth Secretary-General’s Special Award at the 2025 Commonwealth Youth Awards. The award ceremony took place at Marlborough House in London, marking a significant moment for Indian innovation on the global stage.

OMG has been recognized for its transformative work in integrating sustainability and climate education into classrooms across the world. Through its flagship program, OMG Lab, the initiative teaches young students about sustainable farming, climate literacy, and environmental conservation. Active in countries such as India, Ghana, Fiji, and several others in the Commonwealth, OMG empowers the next generation with real-world knowledge about food production, responsible living, and combating climate change.

Patricia Scotland KC, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, presented the award, applauding OMG’s efforts. In a social media post, she said, “Sustainability starts in the classroom. Delighted to present my Special Award for Education & Sustainability to OMG. I was so impressed by their work to nurture young people with the skills to grow food & care for our planet.”

For OMG, the recognition highlights the growing impact of its educational programs. The initiative has already helped thousands of students develop a deeper understanding of the environment, farming, and sustainable practices that are critical for addressing the climate crisis.

A key feature of OMG’s educational approach is Raya, the world’s first AI-powered Sustainable Education Agent, developed in collaboration with Polar AI, pioneers in cognitive artificial intelligence. Raya is designed to assist teachers and students in learning about the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), regenerative farming, and responsible living. The platform’s ability to provide personalized educational content allows students to explore complex topics like sustainability in a more interactive and engaging way.

In a symbolic gesture that underscores the global significance of this initiative, the Commonwealth Secretary-General became the first user of Raya. This moment was not only a recognition of OMG’s innovation but also a powerful statement of support for the integration of technology in sustainable education.

Speaking about the award, Suchith Sindhe, Co-Founder of OMG, said, “This recognition is a reminder that the future of sustainability lies in education. We are teaching the next generation to not only understand climate change but to take action towards a more sustainable future.”
His brother Sourabh Sindhe, Co-Founder, added, “We are building a bridge between nature and the next generation through technology and purpose. Our goal is to equip young minds with the tools to drive positive environmental change.”

With this award, OMG is poised to continue its global expansion and bring sustainable education to more students worldwide. Through collaborations with schools, educational institutions, and global partners, OMG aims to make sustainability education accessible to children everywhere.
As OMG continues to lead a new chapter in global education, it invites schools and institutions around the world to partner with them in expanding access to sustainable education through OMG Labs and the AI-powered Raya platform.
