Princess Beatrice, 36, has given birth to a baby girl named Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi, born several weeks prematurely. The royal and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 41, are delighted to announce the arrival of their second child.
In a statement released by Buckingham Palace, it was confirmed that Athena arrived on Wednesday, 22nd January, at 12:57 pm at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London, weighing four pounds and five ounces.
“Their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of the royal family have all been informed and are delighted with the news,” the statement read.
Edoardo took to social media to share the joyful news with his followers, writing on Instagram, “We welcomed baby Athena into our lives last week. She is tiny and absolutely perfect. We are all (including Wolfie and Sienna) already completely besotted with her. Our hearts are overflowing with love for you, baby Athena.”
He also thanked the hospital staff, saying, “A massive thank you from my wife and I goes out to all the wonderful staff at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for their exceptional care and support during this incredibly special time.”

Princess Beatrice had announced her pregnancy in October 2024, with Buckingham Palace confirming the news at the time, saying, “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child together early in the new year; a sibling for Wolfie and Sienna.”
