Amorim Calls for United Fightback

Amorim acknowledged the team’s underwhelming performance this season and took responsibility for the struggles….reports Asian Lite News

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has admitted that it’s up to him and the players to change Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s opinion of the squad. The club’s co-owner recently criticized some players as “not good enough” and “overpaid.”

Amorim acknowledged the team’s underwhelming performance this season and took responsibility for the struggles. “If we’re being honest, everyone — including me — is underperforming this season,” Amorim said. “Players like Casemiro have won everything, and we know they can play much better. Ratcliffe was honest, and the focus now is to change his mind and everyone else’s.”

Despite Ratcliffe’s blunt remarks, Amorim emphasized that he shares a strong and open relationship with the United board. “We are really blunt and honest with each other, and we’re quite similar in that regard. I’ve always felt the support of the board, especially from Sir Jim,” he added.

Amorim also revealed that United have a clear transfer strategy in place to strengthen the squad ahead of next season. “We have a clear plan to address next season. We’re still in the Europa League, which gives us a chance to reach the Champions League. We’re far from that moment now, but a positive result could change how we prepare for next season,” Amorim explained.

He stressed the importance of knowing what kind of players to bring in to improve the team’s performance. “We know what to do. We know we’re in a difficult moment, but it’s important to have a plan and execute it,” he said.

United face Real Sociedad in the second leg of their Europa League last-16 tie on Thursday. Amorim remains hopeful that a strong performance can provide momentum and help shift the narrative around the team.
