Amorim Jokes He’s ’50’ After Two Months at Manchester United

In addition to reflecting on his birthday, Amorim addressed Marcus Rashford’s ongoing absence from the team.

Ruben Amorim, the manager of Manchester United, joked that his brief two-month stint at the club has aged him by a decade, leaving him feeling 50 instead of the 40 years he turns on Monday. Amorim’s birthday celebrations were marked by a narrow 1-0 victory over Fulham, though he made it clear he wasn’t in the mood for any time off. Despite the occasion, he denied his players’ request for a day off and insisted on holding a training session instead.

In addition to reflecting on his birthday, Amorim addressed Marcus Rashford’s ongoing absence from the team. He stressed that only players who consistently give their best in both training and life will be considered for selection. With the victory over Fulham, Manchester United climbed to 12th place in the Premier League. The team’s focus now turns to their upcoming matches in the UEFA Europa League as they look to regain form in the international competition.
