Bryson DeChambeau Praises “Rock-Solid” Caddie Greg Bodine

In an interview with Golf Monthly magazine, DeChambeau opened up about the key role Greg plays in his success. “He’s just such a big support system

Bryson DeChambeau has expressed deep gratitude for his caddie, Greg Bodine, describing him as a “rock-solid” support system on the golf course. The 31-year-old golfer has often highlighted the importance of having Greg by his side, particularly for his positive attitude and calming presence that make DeChambeau’s job much easier.

In an interview with Golf Monthly magazine, DeChambeau opened up about the key role Greg plays in his success. “He’s just such a big support system. He’s been like a rock-solid individual whether I’m hitting it bad or hitting it good,” DeChambeau shared. “He’s just so even-keeled, and that’s what I need out there on the golf course—somebody who can just take care of the situations we go through and know how to react positively.”
The golfer also spoke about how Greg’s approach helps him stay focused, no matter the circumstances. “Greg is someone who can just make my life a lot easier – the way he talks, the timing of his words, he’s just found the right rhythm that works for me and what we both need as a group.”
As DeChambeau continues to push for a career Grand Slam, he faces the challenge of securing three more Major wins. However, he has identified one particular event that he feels will be the most difficult for him to conquer—the British Open.

“The British Open is going to probably be the most difficult one, but the one I hopefully will want to win the most,” he said. DeChambeau acknowledged that the style of golf at the Open, particularly the links courses, presents a challenge that he is still learning to master. “It’s not something I’m used to. I didn’t grow up in it, and so I’m getting more comfortable with links golf as I play more and more Opens,” he explained.

Despite these challenges, DeChambeau remains optimistic about improving his game on links courses. Reflecting on his experiences in previous British Opens, he said, “This past year I learned a lot about my game in those kinds of courses and conditions, and I’ll continue to get better over the course of time.” With his determination and the support of his “rock-solid” caddie, DeChambeau is eager to keep improving and chase his Grand Slam dream.
