Tennis Star Frances Tiafoe Talks Meeting Taylor Swift, Calls Her “Down to Earth”

Frances Tiafoe, the tennis star, recently shared an unforgettable experience meeting singer Taylor Swift at a Kansas City Chiefs game. During an all-day drinking session, Tiafoe was impressed by Swift’s “down to earth” nature and her deep knowledge of tennis.

Tiafoe told Tennis TV that the two met in a suite at Arrowhead Stadium in November. Despite the star-studded surroundings, the tennis player was struck by how humble Swift was. “She was so cool. One of the most humble people for who she is. Super down to earth. Hopefully, we can do that again,” Tiafoe said.

While he admits he’s not a Swiftie, Tiafoe expressed admiration for the singer, noting how much he appreciated her greatness. “It’s crazy because, you know like, I’m not even saying I’m a Swiftie, but I appreciate greatness so much. Seeing how cool she was, she’s got my ultimate respect,” he added.

The 25-year-old athlete also revealed that Swift was “very knowledgeable” about tennis. She mentioned how she had wanted to watch Tiafoe play in the U.S. Open final and noted that her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce, was a fan of his.

The pop star has been a fixture at Chiefs games this past season, frequently supporting Kelce, even attending the Super Bowl earlier this month. Tiafoe’s encounter with Swift only added to the ongoing buzz surrounding the couple.
Swift’s father, Ed, recently shared plans for the couple’s upcoming time off, which will follow the end of both Kelce’s NFL season and Taylor’s “The Eras” tour. Speaking to Australia’s Today show, Ed said, “I think we get past the Super Bowl, I think it’s going to be a very good period for the two of them without the NFL season, without the ‘Eras Tour.’ Just them alone, really connecting more. And I think that can only be a good thing.”
