Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 Gets Title: Brand New Day Set for 2026

While Tom Holland is set to return as the beloved superhero, it remains to be seen what role Stranger Things star Sadie Sink has landed in the film

The official title of the highly anticipated Spider-Man 4 movie starring Tom Holland has been revealed as Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The announcement came via a video message from the actor during CinemaCon, where director Destin Daniel Cretton also took the stage to discuss the upcoming film. Set to hit cinemas on July 31, 2026, the movie marks a new chapter for Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

This announcement comes just hours after fans spotted Spider-Man 4 on the 2026 film slate at CinemaCon. According to reports, the film’s title references a 2008 comic book storyline where, following a universe-altering event, the world forgets who Spider-Man is. While this mirrors the events of No Way Home, which ended with Peter Parker asking Doctor Strange to make the world forget Spider-Man, the original storyline was controversial among fans, as it also saw the dissolution of Peter’s marriage to Mary Jane Watson. Many fans are eager to see how the film will address or adapt these elements in the MCU.

While Tom Holland is set to return as the beloved superhero, it remains to be seen what role Stranger Things star Sadie Sink has landed in the film. While some have speculated she may play Peter’s new love interest, others hint at a possible X-Men-related role, adding an exciting layer of mystery to the film’s cast and direction.

Director Destin Daniel Cretton, known for his work on Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, teased the audience at CinemaCon about the film’s ambitious story, stating that the goal is to create an emotional story and a ride that fans haven’t seen before. Tom Holland also expressed his excitement, noting that the team was already working on the script and that both he and Zendaya were enthusiastic after reading the first draft.
Marvel fans, however, will have to wait until 2026 to watch Spidey in action, but they have a packed slate ahead of them. This summer, Thunderbolts is set to arrive in May, bringing together antiheroes and villains from across the MCU. Additionally, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, set for release on July 25, will introduce Marvel’s First Family to the MCU.

Meanwhile, Avengers: Doomsday, which is slated for release in May 2026, is set to shake up the MCU with the return of Robert Downey Jr. – but this time, as the villainous Doctor Doom. The upcoming film promises to be a crucial chapter for the MCU, tying together several ongoing storylines.
As for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, it will undoubtedly be one of the most highly anticipated films in the MCU, not just for its action-packed spectacle, but also for its emotional depth and potential connections to other upcoming Marvel projects. Fans are eagerly awaiting further details about the plot and additional casting, especially considering the rumors that Spider-Man 4 may feature several surprise cameos from other Marvel superheroes. Whatever direction it takes, this film promises to be a monumental moment in the MCU’s ever-expanding narrative.
