Hillingdon Tops Charts for School Preferences

Hillingdon Council has come out on top in west London for primary school admissions, with over 91% of parents securing their first-choice school on National Offer Day.

Figures from the Pan London Admissions Board reveal that 91.51% of children in Hillingdon were offered their first-choice primary school, significantly outperforming the London-wide average of 87.92%. In total, 3,169 pupils in the borough secured their top preference.

Hillingdon also led the region in top-three school placements, with 98.18% of applicants receiving an offer for one of their three preferred schools, ahead of the 96.6% London average.

The council processed 3,463 applications for primary places this year, and 98.61% of children were offered a school of preference—again exceeding the capital’s average of 97.9%.

Councillor Susan O’Brien, Hillingdon’s Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Education, praised the outcome. “I’m delighted that we’re the best performing council in west London for both first choices offered to parents and top three preferences. My thanks to our school placement and admissions team for their continued dedication and support to our families,” she said.

Parents must accept their school offers by Wednesday 30 April.
