London’s cultural landscape is about to be transformed with the much-anticipated opening of NEON’s new immersive exhibition space, situated next to the iconic Battersea Power Station on Circus Road East. The new venue, the first-ever purpose-built cultural and entertainment exhibition space in Central London, promises to bring world-renowned, cutting-edge immersive experiences right to the heart of the city. Currently under construction, the impressive 128-tonne, 3,200-square-metre roof structure has already been successfully installed, a milestone achieved earlier this year using 48 chain hoists. This remarkable feat of engineering was made possible through the collaborative work of the creative architects at Expo Pavilion Group (EPG | UAU-Studio) and the design engineers and contractors from Star Live, who are overseeing the development of this landmark venue.

The new exhibition space is poised to deliver a series of awe-inspiring, immersive experiences that will showcase some of NEON’s most celebrated exhibitions. Among the first to be featured will be Machu Picchu: The Golden Empires of Peru and Jurassic World: The Exhibition, both of which have garnered critical acclaim during their previous runs around the world. These exhibitions will be presented as part of a semi-permanent offering, allowing Londoners and tourists alike to experience some of NEON’s most beloved productions up close and in a truly unique format.

Ron Tan, the CEO and Executive Chairman of NEON, shared his excitement about the project, stating, “We are thrilled to announce the opening of this incredible new exhibition space. Battersea Power Station has quickly become one of the city’s most vibrant and creative hubs since it opened to the public in 2022. It’s a perfect fit for us to bring our globally recognized immersive experiences to the heart of London, and we can’t wait for visitors to enjoy what we have in store.”

Battersea Power Station itself has become a major cultural and recreational destination since its grand reopening in October 2022, offering a blend of over 150 shops, restaurants, and bars, alongside a variety of leisure and entertainment experiences. The area has also become known for hosting an array of dynamic cultural events, such as the Light Festival and celebrASIA, as well as festive highlights like Christmas at Battersea Power Station. In 2024, it was named one of the top 20 “Best Cultural Spots” in the world by National Geographic, a reflection of its growing importance in London’s cultural fabric.

The new NEON exhibition space is set to further enhance Battersea Power Station’s status as a cultural hub. The opening is particularly significant, as it coincides with the start of Wandsworth’s year as The London Borough of Culture, further underscoring the district’s dedication to promoting arts, culture, and community engagement. Sam Cotton, Head of Asset Management at Battersea Power Station Development Company, spoke about the exciting prospect, saying, “The opening of NEON’s new exhibition space at Battersea Power Station is another key milestone in our mission to create a thriving center for arts, culture, entertainment, and community. We are excited to see how this addition will resonate with Londoners and visitors from around the world, and we’re proud to be part of the year when Wandsworth is recognized as The London Borough of Culture.”

Set to become a prominent fixture on London’s cultural scene, NEON at Battersea Power Station will host two unique exhibitions each year, offering large-scale, immersive content that is designed to captivate audiences of all ages. With a repertoire that includes some of the world’s most beloved intellectual properties and original artifact-based exhibitions, NEON’s exhibitions have already attracted nearly one million visitors annually to their locations around the globe. From collaborations with The Walt Disney Company and Marvel Entertainment to partnerships with NBCUniversal for Jurassic World and 20th Century Studios for Avatar, NEON boasts an impressive portfolio of globally recognized brands that will form the cornerstone of the Battersea Power Station venue.

In a move that demonstrates NEON’s commitment to accessibility and community engagement, the company will be offering 5,000 complimentary tickets to local schools in London, providing students the opportunity to experience these world-class exhibitions firsthand. An additional 1,000 free tickets will be distributed to local charities, community organizations, and youth groups, ensuring that these incredible cultural experiences are accessible to everyone, regardless of background or financial means. NEON’s dedication to creating inclusive cultural opportunities for all is a key part of the company’s philosophy, and this initiative is designed to make sure that the new venue welcomes visitors from all walks of life.

In celebration of the Spring 2025 opening, those interested in learning more about the NEON experience at Battersea Power Station can visit NeonAtBPS.co.uk for the latest updates and priority ticket sales. The website will offer a sneak peek into the exhibitions on offer, with exclusive content and ticketing information for early access.

With partnerships with major studios like Marvel, Universal, and Warner Bros., as well as collaborations with governments in Egypt and Peru, NEON has brought immersive cultural experiences to cities around the world.
