A historic number of women were elected as Members of Parliament at last year’s general election. Some 263 MPs are now women – 40.5% of all MPs – as of last July’s polling day. It is an increase of more than 40 from the 2019 election when 220 women were elected. Labour’s win saw 190 women MPs elected for their party alone – the highest number in history. On International Women’s Day, all women MPs in Parliament came together for a photo op. (Photo: House of Commons / Flickr)
