Hillingdon Council will host its inaugural Families Roadshow at Ruislip Manor Library on Wednesday, 5 February, from 10am to 3pm. The free drop-in event aims to connect parents and carers with a wide range of services for families and children.

The roadshow will feature stalls from various council departments and partner organisations, offering information and guidance. Attendees can engage directly with officers, learn about support services, and participate in talks, demonstrations, and activities designed for children under five.

“This is the first event of its kind in Hillingdon, and with its success we hope to replicate it in other parts of the borough so no one misses out.”

Cllr Susan O’Brien, Cabinet Member

Representatives from Hillingdon’s libraries, Families’ Information Service, and the stronger families team will be on hand alongside health and support organisations to provide tailored advice and assistance.

Cllr Susan O’Brien, Hillingdon Council’s Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Education, highlighted the significance of the event:

“This is a fantastic opportunity for residents to discover and learn how to access our expansive services on offer to families by having them all together in one place at the same time. They can pop in throughout the day, browse the stalls, listen to guest speakers, see demonstrations, and gather information.”

She also expressed hopes for expanding the initiative: “This is the first event of its kind in Hillingdon, and with its success, we hope to replicate it in other parts of the borough so no one misses out.”

The Families Roadshow underscores Hillingdon’s commitment to supporting its residents and fostering stronger community ties.
